Cash Deposits Not Accepted !!
The hirer must produce a current, valid driving licence with up-to-date address when hiring a trailer. The name on the licence must match the name on the cheque or credit card. The vehicle used for towing must have current road fund licence.

The Hirer is Responsible for the Cost of the Insurance
The trailer and it’s contents are, at all times, the responsibility of the hirer.

REQUIREMENTS FOR HIRE

Please be aware that whilst we would love to hire you a trailer, there are certain requirements that must be met before we are able to do so. We would like to thank you for your understanding in this matter. Should you book your trailer and arrive at one of our stores without the appropriate documentation we would unfortunately have to refuse hiring of the trailer until said documentation is presented.

The items listed as a requirement below, are for the purpose of identification of the hirer. Presentation is not intended to confirm the legality of the hirer with regard to towing a trailer nor is it a requirement that the hirer actually tow the trailer hired.

Drivers towing most trailers needs to have a B + E category on their driving licence, trailers below 750kg gross (This usually means an unbraked trailer, but the trailer is still limited to half the kerbweight of the towing vehicle when loaded) can be towed legally on a B licence only.

Please read the section relevant to you below to ensure that you are fully conversant in the requirements for the hiring of a trailer previous to any hire period.

PRIVATE HIRER

Full UK DRIVING LICENCE in the name of the hirer and presented by the hirer.

A copy of a recent utility bill, the name and address to match the driving licence.

A deposit will be required, provision of the deposit must be in the same name as the driving licence, and this person is the hirer and will be required to be the signatory on the hire contract.

DEPOSIT BY:-

Credit Card (not debit card)

Cheque with a Cheque guarantee card

HIRER ON BEHALF OF A NON-ACCOUNT COMPANY OR ORGANISATION (SCHOOL, ETC)

Full UK DRIVING LICENCE in the name of the person collecting the trailer and signing the contract on behalf of and acting as a nominated agent for the Company or organisation.

A letter on Company letter headed paper or an official order, faxed or e-mailed before the collection, with the details of the person nominated as an agent for the Company.

A deposit will be required, either by the person nominated as the Company agent, or by the company.

DEPOSIT BY:-

Credit Card (not debit card) in the Company name or nominated persons name

Company cheque

HIRER ON BEHALF OF AN ACCOUNT COMPANY.

Full UK DRIVING LICENCE in the name of the person collecting the trailer and signing the contract on behalf of and acting as a nominated agent for the account Company.

A letter on Company letter headed paper or an official order, faxed or e-mailed before the collection, with the details of the person nominated as an agent for the Company.

A deposit will not be required as the account will act in lieu of a deposit.

CHECKLIST OF ADDITIONAL ITEMS REQUIRED

Tow vehicle equipped with 50mm tow ball and 7 pin socket.

Number plate matching the tow vehicle (we do sell number plates, but additional forms of identification are required).

Ratchet straps or a similar method of restraining a load on car transporters, motor cycle trailers and/or open trailers (available for purchase).

Tarpaulin to retain loose loads on open trailers (available to purchase).
